Among the many things that Amazon has done amazingly well is the Amazon Prime. It's a huge bucket of offerings on one single membership that takes care of shopping, video-on-demand, and music-on-demand as well.

From all these services, I'm a huge fan of Amazon Prime Music. However, unlike many other music streaming services, the offline music playback on Amazon Prime Music is a bit tough to spot and, if you're using its app for the first time, you definitely won't be able to locate it.

Therefore, we have created this quick guide to help you. All you need is to follow these steps to save all your favorite music on any of your mobile devices and listen to Amazon Prime Music offline.

Note: Offline music is only available for Amazon Prime members. Make sure that you have a valid subscription to access this.

Take Your Amazon Prime Music Library Offline

Step 1: Make sure you have downloaded the latest Amazon Prime Music app. Launch it and go to your favorite song or curated playlist that you would like to save.

Now here's the problem, this app does not give you a direct way of saving the music offline unlike other services.

Step 2: Tap the three-dot menu button to access Options. From the given options, choose Add to My Music.

Step 3: Access My Music. This is where the app offers you the option to make the song available offline. To access this tap on the three-dot menu, right next to the song you wish to download.

Now, the application will create an offline copy of the song on your device and you can listen to it even when you don't have access to the Internet.

Get the Best-possible Quality

There are a number of settings available on the Amazon Prime Music app, one of those and the most important one allows users to control the quality of the music they're listening to.

No, it won't change your preference. But, the quality of the music that you listen or download on your device. Here's how you can do it.

Step 1: Fire up the Prime Music app and tap the gear icon at the upper-left corner.

Step 2: From the options, select Streaming Quality. On the following screen, you'll be presented a number of options. Select Best Quality and exit the settings.

The app is now set to Auto quality in order to offer the best experience, you'll have to override that setting to get the best quality.

However, the Amazon Prime Music service comes with a hidden catch, it'll automatically deauthorize any device linked to an account after 90 days of inactivity. However, there's a simple fix for this problem as well.

How to Prevent Your Device From Being Deauthorized

Amazon Music App Won

This is merely a safety feature adopted by Prime Music. But, it can cause a lot of problems, especially for users who do not regularly listen to music using this app. However, you can take matters into your own hands and decide when to deauthorize a device.

Note: This change can only be done through the web-app access it at https://music.amazon.com

Step 1: Go to the Prime Music web app and locate the account settings. It can be found under the name of the account holder. Form the options, go to Your Amazon Prime Music settings.

Step 2: A new web page should open up with the global account settings. On that page, you will find the MANAGE YOUR DEVICES option.

Under that option, there is a checkbox that says 'Automatically deauthorize devices that have not been used for 90 days'. Uncheck that box and save your changes.

Now, no matter if you use Amazon Prime Music on your device regularly or not, it'll never get deauthorized.

High-quality Music Over 4G

It's true that high-quality music streaming requires a lot of data so unless you don't have a lot of cellular data on your contract, it's advisable that you stick to the Auto quality option. Automatic quality ensures the best possible quality at all times.

However, if you're still worried about your data, you can also choose the Amazon Prime Music app to play music only on Wi-Fi.

Back up your library

Before following any of these steps, it's a good idea to create a backup of your photo library, even if you use iCloud Photos. You can use Time Machine, use a third-party backup solution, or copy the library to an external drive. By default, your photo library is stored in the Pictures folder within your home folder.

Make sure that your software is up to date

Photos is part of the Mac operating system. You can avoid or fix many issues by running the most up-to-date version of macOS. Learn more about updating the software on your Mac.

If the Media Browser isn't showing your photos and videos

Use the Media Browser to make images from your photo library available in other apps, like Pages and iMovie. The Media Browser shows only the contents of the Photos library designated as the System Photo Library. If you have more than one Photos library—and the one you're using isn't set as the System Photo Library—the Media Browser won't show its contents.

Follow these steps to designate the current library as the System Photo Library:

Amazon Music App Won't Open On Mac

  1. Choose Photos > Preferences.
  2. Click the General button at the top of the Preferences window.
  3. Click Use as System Photo Library.

If you're having other issues with Photos

If you're experiencing other issues—like missing or blank photo thumbnails, unexpected behavior, or if Photos won’t open—try to see if it's an issue with your library by following these steps.

Create a new Photos library and see if your issues persist:

  1. Quit Photos.
  2. Press and hold the Option key while you open Photos.
  3. In the dialog that appears, click Create New.
  4. Give your new library a name, then click OK. Note whether Photos opens successfully with this new library.

To return to your main Photos library, quit Photos. Then open it again while holding the Option key, select your main library, and click Choose Library.

Alternatively, you can open Photos in another user account on your Mac and note whether Photos opens successfully.

If Photos opens with the new library, or in a different user account, it might mean that there's an issue with your library. Follow the steps to use the Photos library repair tool on your main Photos library.
